Wanda Sue Eaglin-Piskach was born on May 17, 1961 in Beaumont, Texas to the late, Roy L. Smith Sr. and Barbarine Flemings. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy L. Smith, Sr., step-father the Reverend Dunk and Barbarine Flemings, and her youngest daughter, Tawanna L. Eaglin. She received her formal education through the Beaumont School District where she graduated from French High School, in 1979.

Wanda met and married Henry W. Eaglin Jr. in Beaumont, Texas and from this union two beautiful daughters was born, Tessany L. Eaglin and Tawanna L. Eaglin. She was a devoted wife and mother. After being married for a while, they both decided to move to Austin, where they met a member of the New Covenant Church, Sister Betty Morales at an HEB grocery store. Sister Betty gave them her testimony of the saving grace of God, and invited them to a New Covenant Church service. After hearing the Gospel preached by the late Bishop Roland James Allen, they both made a decision to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior. Wanda gave her life to Jesus Christ on May 25, 1986; she continued to serve as a faithful member of the New Covenant Church under the leadership of Bishop Eddie E. Willis, Sr. until her death.

Henry later became very ill and passed away leaving Wanda with their two daughters to raise as a single parent. After living a single life as a mother of two, Sister Wanda Eaglin was later united in holy matrimony to Brother David Piskach, who had also accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. With this union she gained two step-children Laura and Phillip Piskach. David and Wanda were married for 15 wonderful years. They both loved and supported all their children. In the last year of Sister Wanda Sue Eaglin-Piskach’s life, she and Brother David Piskach cared for their youngest grand-son, who became their responsibility after the death of her youngest daughter, Tawanna.

Sister Wanda worked as a hairstylist for many years. She loved doing hair, her clients loved her; but her passion was for Interior

Decorating. She was known for her heartfelt laugh, joyous singing, and a smile that would brighten even the darkest day or night. She truly loved the Lord and all her brothers and sisters in Christ. She had a beautiful testimony of how God led her to a woman who told her about a “Man of God” and how her life was changed through the Gospel. The Joy and Peace she saw in Sister Betty Morales, she now had in her life. Sister Wanda was an awesome woman of God who loved the teachings and the guidance of her life through the word of God.

During her thirty-five years of living for Christ, she was a dedicated member who served the Lord with gladness. Sister Wanda was a generous woman remembering birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions through giving of cards and gifts to many. She was faithful to the service of the Lord and lifted up her voice to sing in the New Covenant Church Hope Choir, where she faithfully served as a Choir Assistant, along with her husband, Brother Piskach, who served as a Choir Director. Her presence will be greatly missed. She loved taking care of the choir members making sure they had the words to new songs, assisting and supporting the musicians anyway she could, she just wanted to do something, anything for the Lord. Though she was sick many days she never lost her hope, love and zeal for Christ.

Sister Wanda Sue Eaglin-Piskach entered into eternal rest on May 26, 2021 at the age of 60. She will be best remembered for her zeal to be of a “HELP”, and for her love and friendship to all who knew her.

Wanda leaves to cherish wonderful memories of her life to: her devoted and faithful husband David Piskach, her daughter, Tessany L. Eaglin, her step-children, Laura and Philip Piskach, her siblings Vanessa Jackson and husband Danny, Jacqueline Walker-Turner, Roy L. Smith Jr. and wife Rozella, Sheila Stanford and husband Aaron, her four grand-children, and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, relatives, co-workers, a very special friend Sister Mary McQueen, who help assist her during the time of her illness, Pastor Eddie E. Willis, Sr. for all his prayers and her New Covenant Church Family.
