Verda Fagan

Verda Fagan was born to Novella Walker and James Swisher on January 23, 1932 in Austin, Texas. She was the oldest child of five, as well as the only daughter. She received her primary education through AISD, then received her certificate of Computer Management through CBM of America.

To those who knew her, Verda was affectionately known as "Mackie," who was an avid reader and loved to cook. In fact, she perfected her famous pinto beans which earned her title, "The Bean Queen."

Verda was baptized on April 24, 1983 at World of Pentecost, Austin, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Kenneth Phillips. She served on the Usher Board while her health permitted and remained a devout member and mother of the congregation for many years.

Verda is preceded in death by both parents; brothers, James Walker, Joe Swisher, Clifton Washington and Lonnie Washington; sons, Reginald Swisher and Vincent Fagan.

Left to cherish her memory, her children, Patricia January,  Barbara Goff (Edward), Clarence Fagan, Odessa Johnson, Ardella Holder and Michael Fagan; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; Mackie will also be misseed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
