Thomas Loving Sr.

December 29, 1966 — October 17, 2020

North Austin Location

Thomas Eugene Loving, Sr., was created and born into this life by the hands of God. Without any hesitation God decided to give him to the late Mr. Thomas Loving and the late Mrs. Barbara Joyce Loving Goodin. He was born in the capitol city of Austin, Texas, on December 29, 1966.

He would later develop the nicknames, “Gene and G-Money.”

While living on this side of heaven, Gene (G-Money) was raised in a loving, Christian home where he received his first beginnings of knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Gene (G-Money) had several accomplishments. His greatest accomplishment was when he met the Lord and professed his hope in the Lord.

His other accomplishments were when he attended school in Austin, Texas. Going on to graduate from William B. Travis High School in Austin, Texas. We know that Gene (G-Money) served God, but another accomplishment in his life was when he chose to serve his country also. He enlisted in the military (National Guard) in July of 1987. Upon completing his military assignment, he received an honorable discharge.

In his life, Gene (G-Money) married and to this union two children were born: His name sake, his only son Thomas E. Loving, Jr. and daughter, Deziree Reid. Because life happens, Gene divorced but later in life he would go on to have one more daughter, Jo Ellen Dover.

To know Gene (G-Money) is to know he was a firm believer of Ephesians 4:32: “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Gene (G-Money) was a very, very kindhearted, loving and giving person.

As much as Thomas Eugene Loving, Sr. loved his family and his friends, he knew to be absent from his body is to be present with his Lord and Savior. So, on Saturday night, October 17, 2020, Gene (G-Money) prepared himself for his new life over in glory. He began to speak as the Apostle Paul: “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and nephew.

He leaves to cherish his memories, His three children: Thomas Loving, Jr. (Ashley); Deziree Reid (Matthew) and Jo Ellen Dover (Nathan); ten grandchildren; one sister, Merita Williams; one brother, Cornell Loving; his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Reatha Lee Gonzales; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
