Obituary

Ruby Annette Johnson Davis Henderson, age 79, born to the late William Johnson and LaFla Dawson, passed away after a long illness on Monday, April 20, 2020 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She is now resting peacefully, no more pain, no more suffering.

Ruby knew the Lord and accepted him to be her personal Savior. Ruby was baptized at the St James Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. EM Franklin. Ruby later joined, St John’s College Height’s Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late, Rev. WM Reed. She would remain a member until her death. Ruby was a dedicated choir member. Ruby loved to sing until the Spirit of the Lord filled the church. Her favorite songs to sing were Blessed Assurance, If God is Dead, A Change, I Won’t Complain, and There’s Not A Friend Like the Lowly Jesus.

Ruby's last days on earth were very trying for her but we know she is free and spending eternal life with her husband, William, her mother and father, sisters; Mary and Patsy, brothers: Warren, Elmer (Alfred), Kenneth, and Michael and her grandson, Tavares.

Ruby leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, five children; Stephen (Pamela), Lori Ann, Jonathan (Dee Angela), Jason (Tina) and Erika “Missy” (Carl); three surviving sisters; Geraldine, Beverly, and Cloma (Jimmy) and one brother Ronnie (Mary), twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Due to Covid-19 – A Memorial Service will be scheduled later.
