Robert Requejo Sr.

Our beloved husband and father, Robert (Bobby) Requejo Sr. was called by our heavenly father on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Resident of Round Rock TX died peacefully under hospice homecare with his wife Bernice by his side. He was 83 years, born in Buda TX on August 22, 1939.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Benigno and Concepcion Requejo. Sisters: Mary Lugo, Lucy Martinez, Tommie Rodriguez, Pauline Barrios, and Kay Requejo.  Children: Rosita Requejo, Susan Requejo, and Paul Andrew “Boyce” Requejo. Grandson: David Anthony Camacho.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Bernice Maldonado Requejo. Children: Daniel Requejo and wife Chelsea Blair-Requejo, Bobbie Requejo, Robert Requejo Jr.  and wife Aynee Requejo, Christina Camacho and husband David Camacho. Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and numerous other loving family and friends.

Robert (Bobby) Requejo Sr. started working at a very young age as a cotton picker. He is a veteran of the US Army 101st airborne division. He grew up in East Austin and attended Kilgore Jr. College graduate major in Horology. This landed him a job at Joe Koen Jewelers downtown Austin, this opened the doors to many other jobs from Owner/ CEO of Bobby’s watch and jewelry repair, Longhorn disposal, BFI disposal, Capitol Metro (1-million-mile safe driver award winner), Cedar Park Jewelry, Round Rock ISD, and Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Bobby met no stranger, with his infectious smile that would draw people to him, always making you feel included. He was a hard-working man that loved his family above all. His favorite hobbies were golf, dancing to Tejano, fishing, and football. He cheered for his San Francisco 49ers, He disliked the Dallas cowboys giving his wife and son a hard time (saying turn off the lights, the party is over. After a loss), yet he knew every play that the Dallas cowboys made. He enjoyed playing Dominos and took pride beating his children specially his daughter Susan and son Boyce. He enjoyed having a beer and drinking tequila with family and friends. He enjoyed road trips. He was an avid reader and always learning new things. He was full of fascinating stories from past and present. He loved to whistle and sing and will truly be missed.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 2022. from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with recitation of Holy Rosary, officiated by Mary Barrios, beginning at 5:30 p.m. At All Faiths Funeral Services- North Austin 8507 N. IH 35 Austin, TX 78753

Military Burial will be held Monday, May 9, 2022. 1:00 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery 11463 TX-195, Killeen TX 76542. Pallbearers: Robert Requejo Jr. Daniel Requejo (honorary pallbearer), Brandon Roque, Timothy Torres, Dan Martinez, Daniel Pardo, Roger Barrios, and Ruben Barrios.
