Francisco Gonzales Zamora

October 18, 1952 — April 5, 2021

Austin, Texas

Francisco "Frank" Gonzales Zamora, 68, of Harlingen, retired third party medical provider died April 5, 2021 at his Austin home after a long battle with cancer. He will be gravely missed by his family and many friends.  He was born October 18, 1952 to Eloisa and Feliberto Zamora.

He attended Pan American University in Edinburg and moved to Austin soon after. Frank was a Renaissance man who had many and varied interests. For example, way before Grubhub, as owner of Avenue B Grocery in Hyde Park, he began a tradition of preparing home-cooked meals which he delivered to neighborhood customers who were elderly, disabled, blind or home bound. He then went to a career in Real Estate and ended his career with the family business, The Zamora Development Group. He lived a full life enjoying art, listening to jazz. Spending time around his home working in his yard, and enjoying time with family and friends were some of his favorite past times. One of his favorite places was the beach where he enjoyed fishing, boating or just walking along the sandy shore collecting seashells while enjoying a cool margarita.  He always had a smile on his face for everyone he encountered.

He is survived by his two sons, Adian Zamora and Philip Pettibone. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Diana Zamora, Amira Zamora Villarreal, Mary Lou Zamora, Humberto Zamora, Rolando Zamora, Rene Zamora and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in his death by his sister, Juanita Zamora Ortega and his parents Eloisa and Feliberto Zamora.

A special thanks goes to Hospice Austin for their support, care and compassion.

Arrangements have been entrusted to All Faiths Funeral Services. A celebration of his life will be forthcoming following his private service.
