Albert Palazzese Jr.

September 21,1957 – March 11, 2022

Albert Theodore Palazzese Jr. age 64, a longtime resident of Austin, was called home to the loving arms of his Savior on March 11, 2022.He was born in Homestead, PA to Albert Theodore Palazzese Sr. and Audrey (Fritsch) Palazzese, both of whom proceeded him in death.  Albert grew up in Garland, Texas, and was the protective big brother to his younger siblings. He will be missed by his brother Joe Palazzese, Delia Lopez (Joe’s girlfriend), his sister Peggy Palazzese-Lohr and Jim Lohr (husband), nephews Matthew Lohr and wife Hanna Lohr and grand niece Kennedy Lohr, nephew Michael Lohr and Emily Lippman (Michael’s girlfriend) and many other family and friends.

Albert left Garland when he was accepted to the University of Texas at Austin. It was there that he earned his degree in Communications, Radio, Television and Film. He later returned to the University to get his directors license. While completing his formal education in Austin, he began working for Randall’s, where he continued to work for 37 years. He made Austin his home. He never lost his passion for writing and filmmaking. While working night shift at Randall’s, he pursued his film career, making documentaries and educational films for local colleges. His other passion was collecting comic books from a young age, as well as all types of movie memorabilia.

Albert was a gentle soul, one who was humble, thoughtful and giving, who never forgot a birthday, Mother’s Day or any other holiday. As sure as there was air to breath, one could count on a card for every occasion, often funny and sometimes sentimental. Albert’s other passion was serving our Heavenly Father. As a young boy, he was an altar server. In later years he combined his passion for God and talent for the film industry by participating in the Video Ministry at Calvary South Austin. It was there he wrote, filmed an edited and sometimes acted in films to advance God’s message. He also quietly served in the Rebound Prison Ministry where he visited the imprisoned and forgotten, furthering the Christian Gospel, bringing them hope by reminding them of God’s unending love, grace and forgiveness. Although he never had children of his own, he volunteered in the juvenile detention center where he delighted in ministering to the youth in hopes of helping them turn their life around. Albert’s heart was larger than life. When God called him home, it was without warning. Death came like a thief in the night, leaving friends and family in disbelief. He left this world without a home or a car. His riches were his faith, the friends in his church community, the extended family at Randall’s and many lost souls whose lives he touched. He will be missed by so many. He was taken without warning. Our peace and solace is in knowing that his soul was ready to return home. May the choir of angels greet you. May they speed you to paradise. You will be forever missed but never forgotten.
