Troy M. Nix passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the nursing home facility with complications of pneumonia.
After his dad died, Troy took on the responsibility of attending to the family garden that was a true labor of love.
Troy demonstrated in craftsmanship by single-handedly building our family’s three-bedroom house on his inherited family land. Troy devoted his professional life to the lumber industry. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and a strong work ethic.
Due to health reasons and a need for additional support, Troy made the decision to move to Austin, TX in 2011 to live with his children. This was not an easy decision for him, he has been a pillar of strength for our family and now, as his children, we were eager to return the love and care he had given us over the years.
Our dad had a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten even the toughest days. His laughter was contagious, and he had a knack for finding joy in everyday moments. His humor was a source of comfort and happiness for all of us.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, children, two siblings a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
