June 19, 2008 — May 20, 2025

Austin, Texas

Taiyon Davain Richardson, lovingly known as Tata, left this world on May 20, 2025, at the tender age of 16. Born on June 19, 2008, Taiyon graced the lives of many with his vibrant spirit and infectious smile. His warmth and joy could light up any room, and he became a cherished presence at Dell Children Hospital, where he was affectionately referred to as a "repeat offender." He brought laughter and love to the faces of nurses and doctors who were often delighted when he spoke, a moment that would leave them astounded, reminding everyone of the resilience of the human spirit.

Taiyon had a remarkable personality that endeared him to everyone around him. He exuded joy, especially when his siblings found themselves in a bit of trouble; nothing tickled his soul more than their playful antics. His love for watching "Phineas and Ferb" was unwavering, and those close to him knew that turning off the TV was a grave mistake. For Taiyon, the simple joys of watching TV and lounging comfortably were as enriching as they could be, serving as a reminder that happiness can often be found in the little things.

He formed triumphant milestones that his family proudly celebrated, from rolling over to learning to sit, and even mastering a communication device to express his thoughts—once famously telling his sister simply to go away. These accomplishments were not just victories but beacons of hope that radiated his strength throughout the years.

Taiyon is survived by his devoted mother, Jennifer Jerdan, his father, Daniel Phagans, and his stepfather, Donnell Johnson. He leaves behind his beloved siblings: Jayda, Nevaeh, Day’Veon, A’rion, Ceianna, and Damontre, who will carry his memory in their hearts always. His grandparents, Pamela and Robert, were also a source of immense love and support throughout his life.

Though his time with us was far too short, Taiyon's legacy of joy and laughter will not soon be forgotten. He taught us that true happiness lies in the simplest of moments, and his spirit will forever echo in the memories we shared. The world is a little dimmer without him, but his light will shine on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
