Susan Haugland

Susan N. Haugland, age 91, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma and friend whose faith and kindness touched countless lives. She was an amazing, graceful woman with so much life, whose faith and kindness touched countless hearts.

Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Susan grew up in a large, loving family with nine brothers and sisters. She cherished her siblings deeply.

Susan left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength; she will be cherished by her friends and family. She is survived by her loving family: Kristine Brock, Mark Brock, Alicia Brock, Mark Allen Brock and her sister Ellie Carroll. Her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will live on through them and all who were blessed to know her.

Susan spent 10 years as a Nun in the Convent, dedicating herself to service and prayer. She later taught school for six years, shaping young minds with patience and care. After leaving the convent, Susan married the love of her life, Roger Haugland, and together they raised their daughter, Kristine.

While living in Chicago, Susan served as a Eucharistic Minister at her parish, continuing her lifelong commitment to faith and community. She enjoyed golfing, tennis, and bowling; and she was actively involved with her church and the local Girl Scouts. Later in life, she found joy in playing Bunco with her friends, cherishing laughter and fellowship.

Her favorite scripture was: “And He came Himself to meet me.”

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 20th, 2026, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road, Austin, Texas. A light lunch will be served after the Mass at the church.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
