Sidney Pate Sr.

Pate, Sidney Weldon Sr 78, of Austin, Texas passed away on May 25, 2020. Sidney’s family moved from Voss, Texas to Austin when he was 6 years old, so he could attend the Texas School for the Deaf. There he met Clee Ann Morgan who became a childhood friend and then his wife. Sidney was an electrician by trade and loved doing handyman jobs. He loved to two-step, puzzles and playing friendly practical jokes. He could always be found wearing his cowboy boots, hat and pearl snap shirts, even during his last years in his nursing home.

Sidney is survived by his daughter Shirley and husband Jason Hurley and son Sidney Pate Jr. He is also survived by granddaughter Lilly Aguirre and husband Trey, grandson Jake Hurley, granddaughter Rebecca Singleton and husband Julian, grandsons Thomas Garza-Pate and Noah Garza-Pate and granddaughter Cierra Pate and many nieces and nephews.

Sidney was preceded in death by parents Tom and Jennie Pate, brothers Don Pate, Lee Pate, sisters Edith Dobson and Louise Fretwell.
