Sadie Lee Foster, 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 20, 2003. Sadie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. 

 

Sadie was born on August 13, 1934 in Clayton, Louisiana to Leon and Thelma Boxley. She  graduated from Sevier High School in Ferriday, Louisiana and relocated to Austin, Texas. 

 

Sadie loved the Lord. She was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and later moved her membership to St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church. As a member, she served as president of the senior choir where she was known for her beautiful and spiritual singing voice.

 

Sadie was employed at the University of Texas as supervisor of Jester Center. After twenty twenty-nine years she retired and began working at Redeemer Lutheran Church as the events coordinator for fifteen years. After her second retirement, Sadie did not sit down. She enjoyed life. She enjoyed traveling, serving in her church and spreading joy to friends and family.

 

Sadie is survived by her three children, Diane, Douglas, and Calvin three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four brothers, and one sister. 

 

Sadie’s visitation will take place at St Stephens Baptist Church from 8:00am-12:00pm, followed by funeral service at 12:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
