Raymond Cecil Jenkins passed away peacefully at his home in Red Rock, Texas, on September 7, 2026. He was born on December 7, 1923, in Austin, Texas, to Albert Jacob Jenkins and Byrdie Savannah Georgia Cain.

Growing up during the Great Depression, Raymond developed a strong work ethic early on, taking on jobs as a teenager to help support his family. In his younger years, Raymond loved riding his horse throughout Austin, playing along and exploring Shoal Creek. He often told stories of his adventures, including swimming his horse across the river near Barton Springs. It was also during one of these horse rides on South Congress Avenue that he crossed paths with a young lady, Glynn Imogene Rader, who would become his beloved wife of 59 years.

He worked as a talented carpenter for most of his life, creating many beautiful kitchens and offices all over Austin. Together, Raymond and Imogene raised two sons and a daughter around cattle and horses. After retiring, he stayed busy raising his own cattle and became known for driving his tractor standing up.

Raymond had an endless supply of jokes and a quick wit. He was blessed with an extroadinary memory and a remarkable ability to recall the details of a life spanning 102 years. Through his memories and storytelling, he became a keeper of his family's history, leaving behind stories that will be remembered and shared for generations to come.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Glynn Imogene (Rader) Jenkins; his sons, Gordon Luther Jenkins and Staton Lewis Jenkins; his grandsons Jeffrey Scott Jenkins and Aaron Wayne Jenkins; and his seven siblings, Floyd, Preston, Virgil, Robert, Thurman, Melvin Jenkins, and Hazel (Jenkins) Chestnut.

Raymond is survived by his daughter, Martha (Jenkins) Walker; his daughter-in-law Linda (Fogle) Jenkins; his grandson, Keith Jenkins (Pam Hart); his granddaughter, Kerri Jenkins; as well as several cherished great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the Bateman Cemetery, located near the intersection of FM 20 and FM 86 in Red Rock, Texas.

Services are under the care of All Faiths Funeral Services, with Brother Richard (Dickie) Halbgewachs of Oak Hill Primitive Baptist Church officiating.
