Odilia Solis Castro
November 3rd, 1941 - June 23rd, 2017

Odilia Solis Castro was born on November 3, 1941 in La Grulla, Texas. She was the eldest daughter of 15 children born to Texas ranchers Isaac and Juanita Solis. She grew up and attended school in La Grulla. Odilia later traveled and worked throughout the United States, living in various parts of Texas. In 1981 she settled in Bastrop, Texas where she lived for the last 36 years. She joyfully married Antoni Castro on June 1, 1999.

Odilia enjoyed numerous hobbies: sewing, quilting, crocheting, and painting. She also had a great love for gardening with a particular fondness for bluebonnets.

After bravely battling breast cancer for over 9 years, Odilia passed away on June 23rd, 2017. She is survived by her loving husband, Antoni Castro, and her four sons, Jerardo, Javier, Jorge and Jeronimo.

Odilia Solis Castro was a loving and giving sister, wife, and mother. Her presence will be truly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Viewing will be held at All Faiths of the Pines in Smithville, Texas, on Thursday, June 29th from 12 PM - 4 PM. Memorial Service will begin at 2 PM.
