Myrtle Alice Holmes
February 19, 1945 - January 28, 2024

Myrtle was born to Margaret Goode in Lavaca County, TX where she also received her education.

She married at an early age and started her family with Cleveland Holmes to which three daughters were born. Myrtle worked in Retail Management in Victoria, TX and in Austin, TX where she chose to reside. Her passion for children led her to Bethany Luthern where she was a trusted and loyal caregiver and teacher. She met the Chhabra family there and became personal caregiver and nanny to their children until her retirement in 2016. Myrtle is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Goode Thornton, her father Herbert Thornton and her brother Clyde Gable Thornton.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters: Carolyn and her husband Raynard Jones(Round Rock) Marilyn and her husband Robert Alvarado(Austin) Shelia and her husband BJ Huff(Cuero)TX. Two Loving grandsons: Cameron Holmes and Casey Holmes of Austin, TX and her Beloved Great Grandson Zane Anthony Holmes. She also leaves two brothers that mourn her: Charles Goode of Winter Haven, Florida and Rodney Thornton of Newburgh, New York. Myrtle also leaves numerous Beloved cousins and friends, Aunts and Uncles, nieces and nephews, The Chhabra Family and her Best friend Lala Coe and her family. We all Loved her dearly and she will truly be missed but will live in our hearts Forever.
