Melisa Nichole Shepherd of Jarrell, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2024. Born on July 14, 1964, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Melisa left an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she touched. Her love for life was contagious, and her passion inspired countless people.
Melisa was a woman of many talents and contradictions. She was a skilled pool player, dominating the table with her cue stick and impressing friends and family with her skill and strategy. Her love for music was equally evident, whether she was belting out her favorite tunes or dancing the night away. She could clean anyone's house to perfection, leaving it spotless and sparkling, yet didn't mind getting her hands dirty and could change her own oil with ease.
As a loving daughter, devoted mother, and grandmother, Melisa lived a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. She spent countless hours in the stands, cheering on her kids at every sports game, concert, and school event. She was always their number one fan, beaming with pride and support. But her greatest blessing was being called "NaNa" by her grandchildren.
Melisa is preceded in death by her father, George N. Crowson, and grandparents Jewell and Omega Crowson and Emily Lisenbey. She is survived by her mother, Brenda Lisenbey Haney; two brothers, Michael Paxton and Marcus Rahman; the father of her children Steve Shepherd, three children, Alan (Heather), Andrew (Jessica), and Stephaine (Cesar); twelve beautiful grandchildren, and significant other Terry Miller.
A viewing will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10th, at All Faiths Funeral Home, 8507 N. Interstate 35 Frontage Rd., Austin, TX 78753. Melisa's life and legacy will be honored in the presence of her family, friends, and those she touched throughout her vibrant life.
