Megan Page Montgomery's Obituary

Megan Page Montgomery was born on February 11, 1987, in Austin, Texas. She passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2026. A proud Austin native, Megan carried her love for her hometown throughout her life and career.

She graduated from St. Edward’s University with both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration, a testament to her determination and strong work ethic. Megan built a meaningful career in public service and most recently served as Director of Communications in the Child Support Division for the Attorney General’s Office in Austin, Texas. In her role, she was respected for her professionalism, leadership, and her ability to communicate with clarity, compassion, and purpose.

Anyone who knew Megan knew she had a heart of gold. Her kindness was constant, her spirit radiant, and her compassion for others unwavering. She faced personal challenges with remarkable courage. Having struggled with her weight for much of her life, Megan made the brave decision to undergo bariatric surgery five years ago. Over the past year, she continued her health journey and achieved an extraordinary transformation, losing more than half her weight. She was incredibly proud of how far she had come and found great joy in sharing her progress and before-and-after photos with those she loved. For the first time in a long time, Megan was excited about her future and deeply happy.

Megan was also a passionate artist and painter. Through her artwork, she expressed her creativity, depth, and unique perspective on the world. Her talent reflected the beauty, color, and emotion she carried within her.

She also shared her passion for movement and joy through teaching Zumba classes for many years and enjoyed teaching at the YMCA. Megans Zumba Supervisor said Megan brought light, energy, and genuine joy to the Y community. Through her work as a Zumba instructor and personal trainer, she inspired confidence, strength and happiness in so many lives. Megan had a rare and beautiful gift for connecting with people, uplifting them, and making everyone feel seen, valued and capable. On behalf of her Y and Zumba family, we will forever carry her enthusiasm, kindness and radiant spirit with us.

Megan’s neighbors describe her as a true friend to her community. For 16 years, she was a compassionate and devoted neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She volunteered her time with her HOA and worked to make her neighborhood a better place. In the days following her passing, her neighbors gathered together for a vigil, leaving flowers and sharing stories, honoring her as a true friend of the community she loved so deeply.

Through every season of her life, Megan’s beautiful spirit never changed. Her warmth, generosity, and genuine love for others remained her defining qualities.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Montgomery, and other beloved family members and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Lynn Tellechea; her bonus father, Gabriel Tellechea; her brothers Ian Tellechea and Chris Montgomery; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Megan’s life was marked by resilience, service, kindness, creativity, and joy. Though her time with us feels far too short, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior, restored and whole, and that one day we will be reunited with her in eternal life.
