Mary was called to Heaven on November 13, 2025. She was born in Austin, Texas on March 7, 1949. She was a beloved wife, mom, sister, and Tia. She is preceded in death by Guadalupe, Domitila, Jesse, Priscilla, Arnold, and Alfonso Gonzales.
She is survived by her husband, Felipe Red Garcia, her sons Sonny Garcia and Joseph Garcia, sister Dolores, Janie, and Gracie, and brothers Guadalupe and Lucio.
She worked for the Austin Independent School District - first as an Office Aide and then a Librarian for 19 years. In her 40s, she went to Southwest Texas and earned a degree in Social Work. She worked for Hospice and Candlelighter helping prepare final arrangements for their loved ones. She retired helping teach kids as a school teacher.
Mary was the matriarch of the family - she was our north, south, east and west. She was our everything. Mom was kind, loving, and showed grace, mercy, and forgiveness tirelessly.
Celebrate Mary's life-
Without valleys, there would be no peaks -
Today I have to do today, it's also so you/I can let it go tomorrow.
