Marcelino Zabaleta López, 65, of Austin, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
He was born on January 19, 1961, in Mexico to Adán Zabaleta and Calletana López. He grew up in Mexico before later making his home in Texas, where he built a life centered on family, hard work, and faith. Marcelino dedicated over 25 years to working in construction, where he was known for his strong work ethic, skill, and commitment to providing for his family.
On a beautiful day surrounded by loved ones, he married Catalina Carbajal Martínez, and together they built a life in Texas filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to their children.
Marcelino was known for his kindness, humor, and strength. He had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed working on home projects, fishing, and making his famous flour tortillas for his family. He especially loved singing and playing his guitar, filling his home with music and joy.
Above all, he was a devoted husband and father. His greatest joy was his family, and he enjoyed time spent together, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Catalina; his children, Erica, Oscar, Huber, Osbaldo, Yobani, and Delma; and his cherished cat, Junior. He was preceded in death by his father, Adán Zabaleta, along with his father-in-law, Antonino Carbajal; mother-in-law, Epifania Martínez; brother-in-law, Miguel Carbajal; and sister, Hortensia Zabaleta.
A public viewing will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at All Faith Funeral Services in Austin, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Pflugerville, Texas, followed by interment at 1:00 p.m. at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
Flowers may be sent to the funeral home for the services. Those who wish may also make memorial contributions to the family, which will be used for rosaries and gatherings held in his honor following the burial.
His legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved him.
