With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Luis D. Calderon—a devoted husband, incredible father, grandfather, and the heart of our family. Luis passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025—Father’s Day—a day that will forever hold a different, deeper meaning for those who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, generosity, and dignity that will never be forgotten.
Born in Putumayo, Colombia, Luis lived a life full of bold spirit and purpose. In his younger years, he was a bullfighter—fearless and passionate, embracing the tradition and thrill of the arena. Later, he poured that same spirit into a new craft, becoming a jeweler whose hands shaped beautiful things with patience, skill, and pride.
Luis was much more than his work or his accomplishments—he was our rock. He worked tirelessly not just for his own family, but to help bring many of our loved ones to the United States, offering them hope and opportunity. He never asked for praise. He simply did what needed to be done, always thinking of others first.
More than anything, Luis was a family man. He was a devoted husband and a loving, proud father to his three daughters he adored with all his heart. We always knew how much he loved us—through his words, his sacrifices, and the way he showed up for us, day after day. When he became a grandfather, his life gained new purpose watching his grandchildren grow. We looked up to him, leaned on him, and tried to follow his example of integrity, trustworthiness, reliability, and love. He played a father figure to many especially his two son-in-laws who proudly called him dad.
To know Luis was to admire him. He carried himself with strength, kindness, and determination. Whether you were family, a friend, or someone just crossing his path, you felt his presence. He was the kind of man you didn’t just respect—he was the kind you loved.
Luis D. Calderon lived a life filled with courage, love, and purpose. Though he’s no longer with us, his spirit lives on in every story we share, every memory we hold close, and in the lives, he helped shape with so much care.
