Lorenzo "Pete" Davis

Lorenzo "Pete" Davis was born to Leroy and Evelyne Davis on November 2, 1947 in Del Valle, Texas.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, JoAnne Davis, his brothers Leroy (Mary), Huey (Margaret), Willie, his sisters Gracie Mae and Shirley (Henry). Pete accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age, and united with the Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life he joined St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.  

He graduated from Del Valle High School in 1965 and married the love of his life JoAnne on January 16,1970. He worked for Del Valle ISD for 30+ years as a Custodian and Bus Driver. He loved spending time with family, playing dominoes, fishing and tinkering with everything.  He was a self-made handy man and could fix just about anything. 

He leaves to mourn and rejoice in his homecoming, one aunt, Ella (Doll) Davis of Houston, his siblings: Lillie Neal (Marvin-deceased), and Gene Davis (Bertha-deceased); his children: Yolanda Davis, Anthony Davis (Erica), Derrick Davis (Gail) and Erica Hamilton; his grandchildren: Dexter McMarion, Michaela Davis, Dierra Davis, Jameel Darby, DeAundra Davis, Derrick (DJ) Davis, Patrick Houston, Tiffany Houston, and Orbony Wilson: his great-grandchilden:  A'Livia McMarion, Dante Houston and Bella Duff. We would also like to acknowledge Ms. Betty Dukes who was his special companion of 5 years and a host of nephews, nieces and dear friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday July 5th at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, 3107 East 51st street Austin, Texas 78723 at 11am.
