Joseph Albert Wucik Jr, a devoted husband and loving father, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 12, in Austin, TX.  He was born on May 5, 1937, in Westerly, RI to Joseph Albert Wucik Sr and Pauline DePietro.

 

Joe was raised in Westerly and graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1959. He met his wife Gail during their daily train commute for school in Providence. Joe later worked as Draftsman at General Dynamics / Electric Boat and then as Chief Draftsman at Posi-Seal International. Upon his retirement, he served as a Sheriff's Auxiliary Volunteer in Green Valley, AZ. Joe is also an Army Veteran. He loved watching the Yankees and Giants; he was an avid golfer and cribbage player. Joe also enjoyed spending time in working on his family’s home on 24 Urso Drive – remodeling the basement, building the slate rock wall, and installing a pool, shed and cabana.

 

He is survived by his loving wife Gail, son Joseph Albert Wucik III and his wife Tonya Sanders in Austin; daughter Heather Wucik in Newport Beach, CA; granddaughter, Sierra Andrejczak of Costa Mesa, CA; and grandson, Joseph Albert Wucik IV in El Paso, TX.

 

In his remembrance, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
