Joseph John Robles of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 15, 2026, in Austin, Texas. Born on March 18, 1949, in Houston to Richard and Essie Robles, Joe grew up in the Oak Forest neighborhood and graduated from Waltrip High School.

Following high school, Joe honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from December 1969 to September 1972. He served as an artilleryman with the 1st Battalion, 18th Artillery, which included a deployment to Vietnam from June 1970 to April 1971.

After completing his military service, Joe pursued a career in sales before attending Southwest Texas State University (SWT) in the early 1990s, where he earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology. He spent the remainder of his career working as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), dedicating his professional life to supporting countless individuals on their journey toward recovery and a sober lifestyle.

In his personal time, Joe was an active and devoted member of the local AA community. He had a great passion for live music and loved the feeling of the wind in his hair while riding his motorcycle.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Essie Mae Robles, and his sister, Elizabeth. He is survived by his sisters, Juanita Kalousek and Marcia Robles; his son, Jason Robles; and his daughter, Samantha Protokowicz. He also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Sloane Robles, Caleb Protokowicz, and twins Zoey and Annika Protokowicz.
