John Rex Robertson

Elgin, Texas

John Rex Robertson, of Elgin, Texas, passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 62.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a man of strong faith and curiosity.

John earned his degree in Business, with a minor in Finance, from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Throughout his career, he worked as an IT consultant and remained passionate about technology and lifelong learning.

In his free time, John enjoyed photography and reading—especially Westerns and science fiction. He loved watching sci-fi films and Marvel movies and never missed an episode of Doctor Who. A talented musician, he had a lifelong love of music and played the trombone from his youth in the South San High School Marching Band through much of his adult life, continuing to play until his health no longer allowed.

In his later years, John faced significant health challenges with resilience and courage, supported faithfully by his wife and daughter.

He is survived by his loving wife, Grace Robertson; his daughter, Megan Robertson; his son, John Robertson; his grandson, Riley Robertson; his mother, Robbie Robertson; his brother, Eric Scott Robertson; and his sister, Beverly Manuel.

A private service for family and close friends will be held at Harvest Country Church in Pleasanton, Texas, on June 28 at 2:00 p.m.

John will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
