Joan Miller

Joan Lois Miller passed away at her home in Lago Vista, Texas, on Sunday, July 9, 2017. She was born on October 14, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Henry and Hilda (Witterstaetter) Heimbrock.

Joan married Stanley Albert Miller on September 17, 1960. They had five children in Ohio and moved to Texas in 1978.

Joan and Stan enjoyed traveling together, visiting 5 continents and 32 different countries. Joan’s interests and hobbies included being with family, sewing, needlework, golf, gardening, and volunteering in the Lago Vista community.

She is a past member or officer of Lago Vista Nine Holers, Lago Vista Women’s Club, Lago Vista Garden Club, St. Mary’s Women’s Guild, and St. Mary’s Prayer Shawl Ministry.

She is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kendra.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Stan; daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and David Robertson and Amy and Troy Salazar; sons and daughters-in-law Mike and Christine Miller; Chris and Kris Miller; and Matt and Colleen Miller; and seven grandchildren, Nick, Rachel, Gabriel, Noah, Drew, Kacy, and Mackenzie.

A Rosary will be said on Friday, July 14 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s, Our Lady of the Lake Church, in Lago Vista, Texas. A Mass in celebration of Joan’s life will be held Saturday, July 15 at 4:00 p.m., also at St. Mary’s.

A reception will follow. In lieu of gifts, remembrance donations can be made to St. Mary’s Church, Prayer Shawl Ministry.
