Jay Wakefield

Jay Carroll (Jason) Wakefield, 71, of Austin, TX passed away at his home on June 8th, 2017. Born in Corpus Christi February 10th, 1946 to Margaret and Carroll Wakefield. He attended W. B. Ray High School, graduating in 1964. He also attended the University of Texas in Austin.

An Accomplished musician, his first professional engagement was at the 1968 Hemisfair in San Antonio. Jay's passion was the Kerrville Folk Festival, where he had worked and performed each year since its inception.

Jay was preceded in death by his wife Andrea Wakefield. He is survived by his daughter Chelsea (John) Radcliffe and granddaughter Lexi Leanne, of Colonial Heights, VA., sister Lucy (John) Howie of Cape Coral, FL., nephew Sean (Genevieve) Harral of San Antonio, and many cousins and friends.
Jay's love and music will be missed by all.

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 23rd at 2pm at All Faiths Funeral Services, 4360 S. Congress Ave #115 in Austin, TX.
