In Loving Memory of Janis Burke Wall
May 10, 1939 – July 31, 2025
Jan Wall, age 86, of Buda, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, surrounded by family.
Janis found her calling in helping children. She worked as a bookkeeper for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) and became a CASA volunteer herself. The work was emotionally demanding, but she was deeply committed to protecting and advocating for vulnerable children. It was not easy—but it mattered to her, and she made a difference.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rayburn Burke and Joe Burke and her husband of 43 years Dalton Wall. She is survived by her sister, Lyn Crim and her daughters, Jody Faulkner & Lynette Dringenberg and 5 grandchildren.
She was also a devoted member of the First Christian Church of San Marcos and proudly belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
She found joy in painting, swimming, playing Texas Hold ‘Em, writing poetry, and spending quiet time on the patio in prayer.
Janis gave so much of herself to others—always kind, always sympathetic. She loved fiercely and completely. Her legacy is one of compassion, creativity, resilience and strength.
A memorial service will be held at the Dringenberg residence August 23, 2025 at 4:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CASA (casatravis.org) in her memory.
