Irene Dreymala

November 15, 1940 — November 4, 2012

North Austin Location

On Sunday, November 4, 2012, the Lord called Irene Allison Dreymala home after a long, arduous battle with cancer.

Irene was a woman of great intelligence and determination with a wonderful sense of style and creativity. She dedicated herself to raising three daughters and volunteering countless hours at her church, the girl's schools and many civic and community organizations. Through the years, her passions included bible study groups, music, gardening, tennis and reading. She touched so many lives in such a beautiful and loving way; she will truly be missed.

Irene was born in Glasgow, Scotland on November 15, 1940. Through a friendship with an American pen pal, she moved to Houston, Texas where she met her husband, Charles Dreymala (now deceased). They moved from Houston to Portland, Texas and, eventually, to Corpus Christi, Texas where they lived until moving to New Braunfels, Texas for retirement.

She is survived by her daughters: Donna, Terri and Sondra, their husbands; ten grandchildren; and her brother, Graham Cordiner, of Glasgow, Scotland.

Her daughters would like to thank the loving circle of family and friends for their care and support during their mom's illness. There are no words sufficient enough to express the depth of their gratitude.

Irene's funeral service will be held at Christ Our King Anglican Church in New Braunfels on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Irene.
