Gregory A
Davis
Aug 26, 1954 — Jun 25, 2026
Gregory Alan Davis, 71, of Austin, passed away on June 25, 2026.
Born on August 26, 1954, to Larry and Sylvia Davis, Greg was the oldest of three children. The Davis family moved from Bogalusa, Louisiana to San Antonio, Texas, where Greg spent his youth.
Throughout Greg’s career as a salesman, he sold meat, uniforms, TVs, hinges and houses. During his time with Zenith, he moved to Chicago. It didn’t matter what he sold or who he worked for, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
In 2001, Greg met Teresa Chilton, beginning a chapter filled with love, laughter, companionship, and lasting friendships. Together they built a joyful life in Austin, where the Travis Country community became an extension of their family.
One of Greg's greatest gifts was his ability to entertain friends. From Texas to Chicago, he cultivated friendships that lasted a lifetime. People were drawn to his easy smile, sense of humor, and genuine interest in others. He was also a mentor who generously shared his knowledge and encouragement. A special example of that was his relationship with Aldo Berduo. Greg mentored Aldo during his early years selling homes, and that professional mentorship grew into a meaningful lifelong friendship.
Greg found happiness in life's simple pleasures, like fishing, working in his yard, and spending time with his beloved Boston Terriers, which brought him endless companionship and joy. He also loved making people laugh with a corny joke!
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Sylvia Davis.
He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Davis; his son, Nick Davis and wife Rachel; grandson, Hank Davis; and stepdaughter, Dawn Vercher and her husband Clint. Greg was immensely proud of Nick and found one of his greatest joys in being Hank's grandfather. Nothing brought a bigger smile to his face than hearing Hank call him "PaPa," a title he cherished.
He is also survived by his brother, Mark Davis and wife Beth; sister, Patti Rittiman and husband Ron; niece Loran Mocio and husband Andrew, and their children Rory, Hugh, and Van; nephew Justin Davis and wife Jessica, who are expecting daughter Ella; nephew Hunter Rittiman and wife Katie, and their son Bo; and niece Kylee Rittiman and her fiancé Coleman.
Greg will be remembered for his generous heart, unwavering loyalty, and extraordinary ability to make others feel valued. His life was rich in family, friendship, laughter, and meaningful connections. For Greg, many friendships became family, and that enduring legacy will live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
