Gracie Ann Moore

August 11, 1963 — May 6, 2026

Austin, TX

Grace Moore was born on August 11, 1963, in Austin, Texas, to the loving parents Ruben James Moore and Tommie Mae Moore. Grace was the sixth child of eight children and she shared a special bond with her siblings. She was raised in Austin and attended Travis High School, graduating with the Class of 1980.

Grace lived a life marked by compassion, love, and service to others. She worked as a caregiver, a role that truly reflected who she was at heart. Her beautiful spirit and caring nature were evident in the level of care, patience, and kindness she devoted to her patients. Grace did not simply provide care, she gave of herself.

Grace was a faithful member of Friend Will Missionary Baptist Church in her early years and then at West Annie Church. Her faith, family, and love for others were central parts of her life.
In 1995, Grace's life changed forever when she gave birth to her only child, a beautiful baby girl whom she affectionately named Tommie Aaliyah. Becoming a mother brought Grace great joy, and Tommie Aaliyah remained one of the greatest blessings of her life. As if Grace's heart could not hold any more love, in 2020 she was blessed with the birth of her granddaughter, Arelayna. From the very first moment Grace laid eyes on her, she was completely in love. Arelayna brought a new kind of joy to Grace's life, and the bond they shared was one of pure love.

Grace had a true care for music and loved herself some blues. It did not take much for Johnny Taylor to get her on the dance floor. She also had a passion for cooking and enjoyed bringing people and family together around good food, laughter, and love. Whether spending time with her sisters, her brother, extended family, or friends, Grace found joy in the moments shared with those she loved most.

Grace was preceded in death by her loving mother, Tommie Mae Moore, her sister Bernice Craig (Johnny), and her brother, Skippy Moore. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Tommie Aaliyah; granddaughter, Arelayna; her siblings, Willie Mae Burns (Elbert), Joyce Fagan (William - deceased), Victoria Moore, Margaret Moore, and Lynette Moore; and Luke Curry; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
