Gladys Mackey

Gladys Marie Mackey was the sixth child born to Levi Mackey and Bertha Mackey on July 11, 1956 in Austin, Texas.

Gladys attended Manor public schools. She was a longtime client with Travis County Mental Health and Mental Retardation (MHMR). She enjoyed attending the training workshops and social activities provided by this organization. Gladys was employed at Taco Bell for several years, until she retired in 2004. Her favorite Taco Bell menu item was the Mexican pizza. Gladys always had a smile on her face, loved to dance while listening to her radio and had a special place in her heart for cats. She made friends with everyone she met, and greeted everyone with a smile. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Levi Mackey; mother, Bertha Mackey; sister, Catherine Clough; brother, Lawrence Mackey, Sr.; and niece Laurie Bell.

She answered the calling of her Heavenly Father on July 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memories: sister, Gloria J. Moss of Austin, Texas; brother, Charles Mackey of Los Angeles, California; brother, Willie Mackey of Austin, Texas; nephew, Derrick G. Moss (Nina); nephew, Wesley Moss; niece, LaMonica Moss; niece, Shannon Johnson; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
