George Day, Jr., departed from this earthly realm peacefully on April 25, 2025, at Seton Medical Center-Williams in Round Rock, Texas. Born to the union of George Day, Sr. and Maggie L. Day on March 22, 1964, in the historic city of Mobile, Alabama.
George's pursuit of knowledge led him to the halls of Austin Community College, earning an associate degree with a certificate in Computer Science IT. His commitment to lifelong learning saw him further his education at Prairie View A&M University where he majored in Computer Technology graduating with Magna Cum Laude (4.0). His disciplined spirit guided him to the Army Reserves, where he served as a captain for ten years, a role that shaped his character and instilled values that he carried throughout his life.
He has worked at several distinguished companies, including Dell Technologies in Round Rock, TX, where he spent over 16 years as a senior engineer and test strategist. He also held a cyber security role at Trend Micro for three years, served as an ICT Test Engineer at Apple Computers, Inc., and worked as a PCBA Test Engineer at Apex Corps.
His heart found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fisherman, often found with a line in the water, waiting patiently for the catch of the day. Movies at home provided him with laughter and reflection, while the green expanse of the golf course was his sanctuary for peace and friendly competition. Dining out was a cherished activity, where he savored the flavors of life. And, oh, how he loved his Dallas Cowboys! Attending their games was a sacred ritual, a time to cheer and bond with fellow fans.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Maggie L. Day.
