Eva Bigham

Eva Delois Barton-Bigham was born to George & Thelma Barton on February 16, 1932 in Lampasas,Texas. She professed a belief in Christ at an early age and was baptized & united with New Hope Baptist Church in Lapasas, Texas. She taught Sunday school & vacation bible school & was a member of the choir. She eventually moved to Austin and became a member of David Chapel Baptist Church where she also continued to serve the Lord through singing & teaching, Mom was a long time-active member of Ulit Ave. Baptist Church and she eventually moved her membership to St. James MBC.

Mom graduated from the "Old" Anderson High School in 1951 and from there she continued her education becoming a licensed cosmetologist and then a nurse's assistant.

She met and married Martin W. Bigham Jr. on February 16th, 1963. (Which was Mom's birthday, Dad said so she could get extra gifts). Dad preceded her in death, but now they are reunited. Together the raised 2 boys and one girl, Darroll Shawn Barton I (Opal), Barry DW Barton 7 Scheryl Lynn Bigham Hunter.

Her parents, spouse and son Darroll preceded her in death. Mom also had 3 brothers (George, Freddie & Rudolph) & one sister (Frankie & her husband Don Chiles) to also precede her in death.

Mom/Meme leaves to mourn her passing her son Barry Barton & her daughter Scheryl Hunter, both of Austin, Texas and her daughter-in-law, Opal Barton of Lockhart, TX.

Grandchildren: Eva Hunt (Aaron), Martin Polk (Bethany), LaShara Polk, Stephen Hunter, Sandra Davis, Shelia Burt (Lamont), Darroll Barton II (Joyce), and Martina. She has a host of great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren that call her "Meme, Grandma, G-Ma & Old Lady" & they will truly miss her!

Mom has so many people that will miss her! If I begin to name the relatives, I may miss one, Peggy Stephens, she thought the world of you! Lil Franklin, she always talked about you and when she could no longer travel it hurt that she couldn't  come see you and there are so many more! She has a host of friends that will miss her including her dear friend & telephone buddy, Ms. Jimmie Roberson.
