Edward James McMillan, Jr. age 43 of Austin was called by Our Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 5, 2014.

Edward James accepted the Lord as his personal Savior during his youth as a member of Greater Love Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. Marlin R. Carter, Pastor and First Lady Mary Carter.

He attended school in Austin, Texas, San Fernando Valley-Los Angeles, California, Okinawa, Japan and Las Vegas, Nevada. Actively involved in many Gospel Music Ministries in the Austin area, such as; Greater Love Baptist Church Choir, City Wide Youth Chorus, Genesis, Claudia Williams and the Voices of Christ, The Austin Chapter, McKinley Heights, and Adrian Reed and Anointed Praise.

He was a soloist, lead, and background vocalist. Singing songs such as, "His Eye is on the Sparrow", "Even Me", "If You Call on Jesus-He Will Answer Prayer", "Jesus Will Work it Out", "Yes, Lord", and "I'm A Soldier on the Battlefield-Fighting for My Lord", "Pass Me Not-Oh, Gentle Savior", "Throw Out the Life Line" and many more.

The Lord blessed him to play skillfully on the drums and tambourine in Okinawa, Japan for the 55 Member Kadena Air Force Base Gospel Choir at 11 years of age. He also performed in the play, "A Raisin in the Sun" and in the play "Fame" at the Paramount Theater, in Austin.

Edward James was adventurous, friendly and filled with laughter. He enjoyed cooking and found it to be a passion and profession at a casino in Las Vegas, Nevada the University of Texas and several other places of employment.

Edward is survived by Mother and Step-Father; Carolyn Elaine Morgan and Rev. Ronnie Morgan, Father; Edward James McMillan, Sr., 2 Brothers; Terrance Morgan, R.L. Morgan, 2 Sisters; Rhonda Lashuan Morgan-Adams, Erma Jean Morgan, Paternal Grandmother; Colvita Palmer White, Aunts; Christelle Moore, Irma Davis, Gwendolyn Ann Cloyd, Maggie Smith, Patsy Morgan, Kimberly Morgan, Grace Jackson and Emma Johnson, Uncles; Emery Fields, Thomas Debolds, Ralph Smith and Willie Greg Morgan, his Mentor; Rick Sibert, 2 Nephews; Jordan Morgan, Stephaun Morgan-Fuller, 1 Niece; Heavenly Morgan and a Host of Cousins and Dear Friends.

Special thanks to the Physicians, Staff and Nurses at Doug's House and Hospice Austin.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00am at the Greater Love Baptist Church, 6601 Manor Rd., Austin, Texas. This will conclude Edward's Services.
