Dorothy (Dottie) Onetia Sheff of Pflugerville Texas, formerly of the Manito and Forest City area, lost her battle with cancer on April 19, 2012 at her home. She was born April 12, 1941 in Lewistown, IL the daughter of Leroy and Onetia Chambers Owens. She married Kenneth Sheff in Havana IL on April 28, 1963.
She was educated through the Fulton County School District and received her General Education Diploma from Illinois Central College in 1989.
Surviving her is one sister Betty Gill of IL, 3-daughters Cindy "Sheff" Stoehr of IL, Melinda (Al) Landry of FL, Jody Sheff and Jeff of Texas. 7-sons Leonard (Terry) Sheff of California, Kenard Sheff of Florida, Dexter (Connie) Sheff of Florida, Tim Sheff of Texas, Bob (Jeanie) Sheff of Illinois, Shane (Christina) Sheff of Texas and Cody Sheff of Texas, 22 Foster Children, 18 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Kenneth Sheff, her Mother and Father, 4-siblings: Jim Owens, Clare Owens, Dena Leggans and Bud Owens. She also lost a son Aredon Sheff, Grandson Timothy "Philip" Sheff and Great Granddaughter Navaeh Sheff.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's witnesses together with her husband on 7/13/85. She last worked as a bus driver for children with special needs in Round Rock Texas for Durham Transportation.
Cremation rites will be recorded. A memorial was held at the "Kingdom Hall" in Round Rock Texas on 4/28/12. A celebration of life will be held in Illinois at a later date. She will be remembered and missed by the people lives she touched.
