Donray “Don” Watson lived a life marked by faith, dedication, and quiet strength. He faithfully served his community through his long career at Time Warner Cable, from which he retired with pride after 37 years of hard work and commitment followed by 5 years of dedication as a store greeter at Walmart. He was a proud graduate of Anderson High School and enjoyed keeping up with his classmates. Most importantly, Don gave his entire life to Christ. As an ordained Elder, he served faithfully and wholeheartedly, dedicating himself to ministry and uplifting others through his steadfast faith. His spiritual leadership and devotion to God were cornerstones of his life.

Don also had a deep love for travel—especially road trips where he could take in the open highway at his own pace. Music was the soundtrack of his life. Serving as choir director and musician for the church for many years, his love of music was paramount in his life. He also enjoyed smooth jazz on long drives, with Peter White being his favorite. The beats, the instruments, the sounds moved him. He found joy and peace in music’s rhythm and soul. Westerns, classic cinema, and action films were among his second favorite pastimes. 

His DVD collection reflected that passion featuring a curated selection of timeless favorites that he watch and enjoyed each time as though it was his first time enjoying. We will miss his laughter and passion for the arts.

His family extends our sincerest thanks and love to all who supported him with prayers, calls and visits throughout his final journey. We pray that the love we all surrounded him with carried him gently through with peace.
