Dominic Jacob
Longoria-Chambers
d. May 5, 2026
Dominic Jacob Longoria-Chambers, 27, of Austin, earned his wings in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Born on April 19, 1999, to Angela Denise Longoria and Christopher Allen Chambers, Dominic entered this world with a spirit far stronger than anyone could have imagined. At the age of 10, he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and given a life expectancy of 16 years old. Dominic, however, never accepted limitations placed upon him. He defied every expectation with unwavering determination, living not only to see 16, but to graduate and attend college, proving time and time again that his spirit could never be measured by a diagnosis.
Dominic was a warrior in every sense of the word. He fought bravely until the very end, yet carried himself with a gentleness and kindness that touched everyone around him. He was an old soul who loved the rap music of earlier generations. He loved to learn, to dream, and to experience life fully despite every obstacle placed in his path.
He was incredibly generous, finding genuine happiness in giving to others. Dominic held no bitterness in his heart; he forgave quickly, loved deeply, and never allowed negativity to take root within him. His bright spirit naturally drew people toward him. Whether through strangers offering prayers, acts of kindness, or simply stopping to share a moment with him, Dominic left a lasting impression everywhere he went.
Dominic refused to let his disability define him or limit his joy for life. Every weekend was an adventure with his brother and best friend Christopher, always searching for somewhere new to go and something new to experience. One of his greatest dreams was to travel the world and taste all the incredible foods different cultures had to offer. Even after losing the ability to eat, his passion never faded. He would watch videos of foods from around the world and speak hopefully of the day he might finally experience them himself. His determination, optimism, and wonder remained unshaken.
Dominic was defiant. He was kind. He was good. But above all else, he was deeply loved. Alongside his mother and his brother they formed a three-braided cord which not even his ascension could break.
He leaves behind countless family members, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his laughter, strength, generosity, and the light he brought into their lives. Though his earthly journey has ended, the impact of his beautiful soul will continue to live on in every life he touched.
Dominic is survived by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, and his seven siblings. As well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dominic was welcomed into heaven by his cousins Alexis Amanda Bravo, Michael Leshawn Walker, his great grandparents Alejandro and Angela “Angelita” Longoria, Charlie Mae “Big Mama” Gentry, Ramiro and Mary Montemayor, and his uncles Stephen Anthony Harris, Junior and Johnny Montemayor, Santiago Longoria.
