Carolyn Ann Franks

September 11, 1956 — July 23, 2025

Del Valle

Carolyn Ann Franks, affectionately known as "Lur," was born on September 11, 1956, in Duluth, Georgia. She left this world on July 23, 2025, in Austin, Texas, after a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Carolyn was a unique soul who was giving and very prideful, reflecting the warmth and generosity that she shared with everyone around her.

Carolyn truly excelled in the roles that brought her the utmost joy: mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. There is no greater accomplishment in her life than the love she poured into her family. Her children, Karen, Johnny, and Teresa, were the pride of her life, and she cherished each moment spent with them. As a grandmother to many, including JoAnna, Yasmine, Christian, Kadence, Elissa, John, Peyton, Patricia, and as a great grandmother to Valerie, Johnathan, and Isabella, Carolyn's heart knew no bounds. She loved fiercely and created an unbreakable bond with each of her grandchildren, nurturing them with her culinary skills and kind spirit.

Known for being a great cook and unafraid to speak her mind, Carolyn had a personality that lit up every room she entered. Her passion for baking and cleaning showcased her dedication not just to her home, but to the happiness of those she loved. Each dish she created carried a piece of her heart, leaving lasting impressions and sweet memories for her family to cherish.

Throughout her life, Carolyn maintained a strong connection with her roots, her upbringing in a close-knit family where she learned from her loving mother, Sarah Brown, her sisters Linda Gifford and Deborah Alves, as well as her many loved siblings and friends. The bond she shared with her family continued to thrive, even as she navigated the difficult loss of her husband, John Franks, her father, Charles Jarvis, and her brothers, David and Ray Brown and her nephew Kenneth Alves.

As her family gathers to celebrate her life, they will remember the stories shared, the laughter echoed in her home, and the many lessons she imparted. A Visitation will be held on July 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at All Faiths Funeral & Cremation Services in North Austin, followed by a Graveside Service at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca on July 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

Though Carolyn may have departed from this world, her spirit and love will always endure in the hearts of those she has touched. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, compassion, and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire her family and friends for generations to come. To know Carolyn was to know a woman who lived life fully and loved deeper, forever remembered as a foundation of strength and love for all who knew her.
