Bridget Rose Heslin died at home on August 21, 2026, in Austin, Texas.

Born October 21, 1960 to Bridie V (Fitzsimmons) Heslin and Frank E. Heslin in Silver City, New Mexico, she was the youngest of six siblings. The family had movedfrom Brooklyn, New York in 1957.

Her parents preceded her in death, as did her brother Patrick H. Heslin.

She is survived by Brian P. Heslin and Terry E. Heslin (spouse) of Silver City, Kathleen Heslin of Odessa, Texas, Frank E. Heslin Jr and Linda Heslin (spouse) of Monahans, Texas, and Terrence K. Heslin and Phyllis Martinez (spouse) of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by a niece, two nephews, and a great nephew.

Bridget loved her family and often longed to be with them, especially as travel became difficult during her final years.

While her health had permitted, Bridget had enjoyed traveling and living in various places, especially the western and northwestern states, including Alaska. However, she loved Austin, returning there more than once after moving off and living elsewhere. She lived a profound life of prayer and would often neglect her own needs to spend time in daily prayer in order to bring about world peace. She was also deeply devoted to the Rolling Stones, thinking of them often and traveling to see them in concert twice or more.

Bridget was a kind and generous person who cared deeply about the oppressed, coming to the aid of people in need even when in need herself. She was passionate about the rights of women and the poor.

Visitation with a memorial and celebration of Bridget’s life will take place at All Faiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 4360 South Congress Ave., Ste. 115, Austin, Texas at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August, 29, 2026. On a later date, her ashes will be carried to their final resting place in the mountains of southwestern New Mexico.
