Betty Ruth Sumrall, 79, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Born May 28, 1938 in Russellville, Arkansas, she spent her early adulthood in Colorado and settled in Austin, Texas in 1972.
She was preceded in death by her life companion, Ramon Martinez Perez; daughter, Debra Lynn O’Connell; stepson, Roy Eugene Hill; grandson, Philip Cole Cryer; and granddaughter, Amy Faye Cryer.
She is survived by her son, Leander Joseph Krivanek and wife Regina; daughter, Kathy Ann Krivanek; daughter, Cindy Leigh Krivanek; daughter, Peggy Jean Barnett and husband Steve; and grandchildren Patricia Johnsen and Jennifer Essel; Jacqueline Krivanek, Christie Leigh Teeler, Billy Joe Cryer, Caroline Rose Cryer, April Michelle Cryer, Charli Nicole Dean, Lana Kristine O’Connell, Dalton Scott McCandless, Michael Roy Mathews, Christopher Earl Mathews and Daniel Scott Barnett.
Betty never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a natural caregiver and if you were ill, you couldn’t ask for a better “nurse” whether you were family, first time acquaintance or long-time friend.
