Barbara Lanell Gay, affectionately known as "Gannie," graced us with her presence on January 12, 1959. She was the 3rd child of Roscoe and Lula Mae Price. Born in Dallas, Texas, Barbara graduated from Kimball High School in 1977. She moved to Austin, Texas in 1987, where she raised her four children. She joined New Hope Church in 2009 serving as a choir and praise team member, cooking and catering. She later on finished her Bachelor of Science at the University of Phoenix in 2019.

We celebrate her life remembering her legacy as a woman of service and a true saint. She has touched the lives of so many, living her life always giving, loving, feeding, listening, and guiding. She was a mother to all, a beautiful soul, who showed care and compassion to all who crossed her path. She showed grace and grace, walking, and trusting in God's will. Her beautiful smile illuminated the room with the warmth and light of the sun.

She is survived by her father, Roscoe Price Sr., her seven siblings: Roscoe Price Jr., Tommy Price, David Price. James Price, Lisa Wimbley, and Michael Price; seven half siblings, her four children: La’Shaunda Renee Price, Stacy Ann Francis, De'Marcus Antwain Gay, Michael Dean Jr., and her grandchildren Christopher Maxwell, Dante Price, Asheli Taylor, De'Marcus Gay Jr., Timothy Boudin, D’Vante Gay, Aleena Price, Donovan Price, Dean Kitterman Gay, Atlantis Dixson, Ashton Kitterman Gay, and De'Asia Gay. Her legacy continues to live on through her 28 great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Gannie’s loving hands fed people, both at the table, and in the spirit. She catered to others selflessly giving her all in everything. She will forever live on in our hearts and memories. singing sweet songs of praise. She was God's earth angel that blessed everyone she encountered, now returned to heaven. Rest easy now angel, your work here is done. We love you and you will be truly missed.
