Annie Jean Daube

October 4, 1964 — June 5, 2025

Austin

On June 5th, 2025 early in the morning Annie Jean Daube (Beran) passed away. This was sudden and unexpected as she didn’t have any prolonged illness. Annie Jean Daube (Beran) was born October 4, 1964 at Holy Cross Hospital in Austin Texas to Tony Gene Beran and Annie Ayala, their first child. She grew up in Del Valle Texas and attended Del Valle schools, she was Valedictorian of her high school class of 1983, attended the University of Texas at Austin and Austin Community College. She worked at HEB on 7th street and also worked at the Internal Revenue Service windfall profit tax division in Austin Texas for many years as an analyst. Annie, always ambitious, decided to take the United States Treasury exam to be an IRS agent and of course passed with a 100%. She also passed their weapons course in 1990 here in Austin with a perfect score.

Annie was my best friend and partner in life for 38 years, she had a quick wit and was always the champion of verbal sparring. She was the house hair stylist and always willing to give a hand for the next hair color adventure. She loved everything sweetpea and honeysuckle. She loved flowers, especially roses and sunflowers. Her favorite were the amaryllis flowers and her passion flower plants. She loved camping and being in the outdoors but especially just being around the campfire and star gazing.

Annie loved to cook and bake, making bread or rolls was something she was so skilled at. She loved animals, she cared for the many dogs and cats we had over the years and in the most recent years our two cats, Friendly and Pudgy. She loved just about every type of music and making silly songs to replace the real lyrics. Annie was a former Texas certified Firefighter and EMT for ESD 11 and Fire District 8 formerly known as SETCO. She was the district EMS training coordinator and CPR instructor, she saved many lives in Southeast Travis County as well as many burning structures and grass fires. Annie was a loyal Texas Longhorn’s fan, as well as the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros, always putting up with me and my Cubs games. Every Sunday was dedicated to the Dallas Cowboys and we planned our day around their games.

She was only on this Earth for 60 years and 8 months, not long enough, as we had so many more plans, so many more things to do and accomplish. Annie is survived by her Mother Ann Beran, Sister Cheryl Hysick, Brothers Tony Beran jr. and Stephen Beran, her daughter Briana Daube, Husband Vint Daube, her many nephews and nieces, and all of the people she touched in one way or another. Annie was my best friend, a fantastic Mom and she loved her family with all of her heart and soul.
