Janie Brock

June 24, 1927 — January 13, 2020

North Austin Location

Janie P. Brock, age 92, went to her heavenly, eternal home in the early morning hours of January 13, 2020. Janie was born to Frank and Anastacia Perez in Taylor, Tx on June 24, 1927.  She has been reunited with the love of her life, Bill, her son, Ronnie, her parents, her twin brothers, Jessie and Tony Perez , sisters, Marie(Cookie) Tovar, Mary Dominquez and Stella Cervantes.  Janie lived and worked in Taylor until she met her loving husband, Bill, while he was stationed at Fort Hood. They were married November 13, 1952 and moved to Austin where they started their family. Janie became a full-time homemaker and loving mother to their six children.  Janie and Bill were married for 40 years until Bill passed away on April 29, 1993. She loved taking care of her family, doing crossword puzzles, messing with her many plants.  She loved getting up during the night to go outside to take pictures of her plants that bloomed only at night. What she loved most was going to garage sales. Many a Saturday morning Bill would ask her if she was ready to go shopping at “Joskes” and off they went!

Janie is survived by her children, Sylvia Weise(Neil),  Debbie Kolbeson (Tracy Olson), Bill Brock, Yvette Brock, Jacque Brock and her first born grandchild that she helped raise in her younger years, Erica (Keith Roberts) Brock, her 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, her sisters, Inez Perez, Maggie Alvarado, and Lupe Ramirez.  She also is survived by her Brock family - Sarah Brock Southerland (Kent), Cecil Brock (Patty),Bennie Brock (Georgia Ferguson), David Brock (Betty) Rommie Brock and many nieces and nephews on both Perez and Brock sides of family.

Janie was loved by anyone who met her.  She had the most sweetest and loving heart.  You could always count on her to be there for you.  She moved her parents in with her family when her mother became ill and could no longer live at home.  She cared for both her mother and father until each one passed away.  This loving, caring trait was passed on to her children who cared for her until her death.  There was no doubt that she knew she was loved dearly.  She will be deeply missed.

Janie’s family would like to thank the staff of Texas Home Health Hospice and especially her aide, Rosalind Mayberry, who so loving helped with her on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Mom loved Rosalind and would always tell her she loved her before she left. Also we would like to thank two very special people in mom’s life that have been here for her and us, helping us take care of mom - Virginia Dominguez and Roxanna Titapas.  Mom loved you both dearly, as do all of us.
