North Austin Location

Patricia Ann Brody, 59, of Austin, Texas passed away Friday May 25, 2018. She was born in 1958 in Long Beach, California. Patricia graduated from North High School in Wichita, Kansas where she was named Best Defensive Player for her basketball team that won the State Championship. Patricia’s number was retired and her jersey is displayed in her honor at her Alma Mater.

Patricia graduated from Arizona State University in 2000 where she graduated with honors with a dual Masters in Public Administration and Business. Patricia was previously married to Tina Hofstrom for three decades, and lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Phoenix, Arizona. Tina and Patricia were trailblazers in their desire to start a family and pushed every boundary to succeed.

Her beloved daughter Jessica Lauren was born in 1986 and was the light of her life from that moment on. She chose to be a full-time mom, and played an active role as her daughter’s Girl Scout troop leader, sports coach, classroom mom and confidante to the many girls she mentored over the years.

Patricia spent her later career at Costco since 2004 - she was a hard worker and took a great deal of pride in her role as manager. She traveled throughout the United States selecting team members and opening new locations for Costco. Her team members appreciated her professionalism and saw her as a second mom and mentor. She loved creating motivational gifts for her team and making them into a family.

Patricia married her wife Dr. Amy Hauck on November 12, 2017 - she loved becoming a part of Amy’s family who welcomed her and Jessica with love. Patricia and Amy were together for four years and enjoyed traveling to Mexico, France, New York City, and New Orleans. Patricia and Amy loved socializing with their many friends and family members, hosting pool parties and holiday get-togethers. Patricia was very selfless and took great pride and joy in making their home inviting and was always happiest when other people were having a wonderful time at one of their events.

Every year Patricia spearheaded a coordinated family theme for their Halloween and Christmas costumes, always including their beloved dogs Kasey Jo and Levi, and she loved decorating their home for every holiday. Patricia loved her family and friends ferociously and with all her heart and touched many lives with her generosity.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Patricia’s name to the Children’s Miracle Network, a cause dear to her heart that she worked on every year.
