Marian Missouri Harper-Washington was born to George and Emma Tennon-Harper on January 18, 1925 in Buda, Texas. Marian was reared in Antioch Colony and is the second of eleven siblings. She attended the Antioch Church and Antioch school.

After becoming a young woman, Marian moved to Austin and later to Phoenix, Arizona. While in Buda Marian married L.D. Bunton. No children were born to this union. She later married L.W. Washington. No children were born to this union.

Marian relocated to Phoenix, Arizona and remained there until she moved back home to the Antioch Colony. While residing in Phoenix, Arizona Marian was a member of Tanner Chapel AME Church where she attended faithfully. Marian loved her church and she loved the Lord. She would often speak of the goodness of God. Marian worked hard and was an independent woman.

Having moved back to Antioch, Marian became a member of Antioch Community Church and she served until her health would not allow her to serve any longer. She faithfully supported the church until her death. Although Marian had no birth children, she loved children. There would be many weekends that she kept her niece Kyra and got her ready for church on Sunday morning.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, George and Emma Harper Antioch Colony, an older brother, George Harper, Jr. (Dump), (Sarah) Phoenix, AZ, three younger brothers, Joshua Harper (Evelyn) Phoenix, AZ, Moses Ollie Joe Harper, and Leslie Harper (Les) both of Austin, three sisters Eunice Rimes, Emily Hill, and Ruth Fears all of Antioch Colony.

Marian Missouri Harper was loved by many people. She leaves to cherish her memories, a nephew who she called her son, LeeDell Bunton, Sr. (Anita) Phoenix, AZ two sisters: Minnie Mary Nelson (Ardell), and Winnie Martha Moyer, of Antioch Colony; one brother, Elijah Harper (Stubby), (Molett), of Antioch Colony. Niece Kyra Harper, Atlanta, GA. and a good friend Mary Frances Smith-Harper Austin and a host of relatives and friends.
